The Rushes were a London-based band from 2000 to 2009. Their use of piano, clear vocals and inventive rhythms set them apart from similar rock / indie acts. Whilst signed to Island records they recorded nearly 2 albums worth of material, however little of this was officially released. Their first album was to be called "To The Surface" and was originally intended to be released ~March 2009. Pre-release versions were circulated and are in some cases available over the web. Unfortunately, despite its clean and catchy sound the album is unlikely to ever see official release.
