After dabbling in local bands for years, George decided to create ‘The Runaway State’, out of relentless boredom more than anything else. He wanted to depart from the masses of ‘pop-punk’ bands thriving for success, and focus on creating an interesting and unique style of music, blending the classic styles of country and folk with a tinge of reggae and modern rock. After releasing his first song ‘We Grow Up Too Fast’, the vibrant tune generated thousands of plays on Youtube, providing ‘The Runaway State’ with a small but remarkably dedicated fanbase, and as George is writing for his debut release in the summer, 2011 seems to hold great things for him, the sky is the limit.
