The Rubber Soul Project or short RSP is a band which recorded only one album called The Rubber Soul Project in 1996. The band got the name from the famous Beatles record "Rubber Soul" released in 1965. The band recorded an imaginary Beatles album by writing music and lyrics to the songs for which they have heard only the titles. Some of the tracks were available on bootlegs which, at the time, were not to be found in Serbia, so the members, having read about the songs, decided to record their own versions inspired by the titles. The band was formed by two artists from Belgrade, Serbia - Rastko Ćirić and Goran Skrobonja, two enormous Beatles fans, decided to record an album with reinvented versions of the songs The Beatles did not release. The two knew only the titles of the songs, some of which were available on bootleg recordings but not in Serbia, and with that knowledge only, the two started working on lyrics and music writing. It was the year 1995, the 30th anniversary of the Rubber Soul album, and so the band got the name The Rubber Soul Project. The lyrics were written by Skrobonja, one of the best Horror/SF stories in Yugoslavia, and the music was written by Ćirić, professor of Illustration at the School of Applied Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade. Then Ćirić was joined by Nebojša Ignjatović, professor of double-bass at the University of Arts in Belgrade and Miroslav Cvetković, bass player of the famous Yugoslav band Bajaga & Instruktori.
