A rockabilly band from Topeka, Kansas. They started some time in the early 1960's. The band consisted of Johnny Thompson (lead guitar, vocals) , Melvin Ralston (rhythm guitar), Chuck Smith (bass), and Bill Doyle (drums). Bob Stanley was the drummer of The Empalas in the early 60's. Melvin Ralston asked Stanley to be the drummer of The Rockin' Continentals. Stanley joined them. They performed throughout Kansas as time went by. They released 2 songs in 1962 and 2 songs in 1963 on a Tennessee record label called Casino. Bob Stanley left the band, he was drafted during the Vietnam War. He was replaced by Bill Doyle. As time went by, The Rockin' Continentals performed regularly on cruise ships. In later years, The Rockin' Continentals became a country band and changed their name to The Good Time Trio.
