There are three acts named The Resistance 1. The Resistance is a swedish death metal band featuring former members of In Flames, The Haunted and Grave. Their music is similar to Swedish death metal legends Dismember and Entombed, combined with influences from hardcore punk and melodic death metal. Members: Marco Aro - vocals (Face Down, The Haunted) Jesper Strömblad - guitar (ex In Flames, Dimension Zero) Glenn Ljungström - guitar (ex In Flames, Dimension Zero) Alex Losbäck Holstad - bass (ex Despite, Decameron, Cardinal Sin) Chris Barkensjö - drums (Carnal Forge, Godsic, ex Grave) 2. THE RESISTANCE is a riddim dubstep act comprised of six producers that makes tracks with a clear inspiration and references to Star Wars. Many sound effects and voice lines from the movies are used in the production. 3. The Resistance were a Selkirk, Manitoba band. Some bands find instant success, however for Selkirk, Manitoba's The Resistance it's been an uphill battle, and with the likes of Propagandhi, Comeback Kid and the Weakerthans hailing Winnipeg as home; the Resistance have some big shoes to fill. With their debut full length album, Revenge On The Riverside, The Resistance have shown that they intend to fill those shoes. Released on Montreal's Union 2112 Records, R.O.T.R. is a darkly-melodic album that draws from the group's punkrock roots and combines their harder-hitting sound with singer Nicole Skalesky's signature blend of melodic & intense singing/screaming.
