The Rangehoods were a Seattle based band from 1984-1996. They went through several member changes over the years. Members have included: Steve Aliment ~ Bass Bruce Hewes ~ Bass Pat Hewitt ~ Guitar, Vocals Don Kammerer ~ Drums Tony Lease ~ Bass Steve Pearson ~ Guitar, Vocals Billy Shaw ~ Drums Mike Wansley ~ Bass Marc Willett ~ Bass Steve Pearson, formerly of the Heats, started a new band with more of a Cowboy Rock sound. Known for their straight forward rock sound and Steve Pearson's lyrics, they were a very popular band with the local clubs. Bruce Hewes and manager Jim Shook were roommates at one time. Pat Hewitt and Jim spent many hours together in Pat's studio. Their relationship started in the seventies when Pat asked Jim to manage his band Wagon Wheel Willie with Pat Gosen of the Floating Bridge as the lead singer. The Rangehoods came into being when Steve Pearson joined the group from the Heats. The Rangehoods were actually the Pins before Pearson joined. The Rangehoods broke up after show casing in LA in 1996. Little known fact is that Mike Wansley who played bass in the Rangehoods and goes by the Moniker TWanz, is the Wanz who sings the hook in the Macklemore song Thrift Shop. Look for him wearing the creamsicle suit in the video. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
