The Radiants were an American doo-wop and R&B group popular during the 1960s. The group formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1960, where the original members met while singing in the youth choir of Greater Harvest Baptist Church. They performed both gospel and secular material, with the latter largely written by group leader Maurice McAlister. While attempting to secure a recording contract, they found that record labels were increasingly uninterested in gospel groups, leading them to focus on secular music. They eventually signed with Chess Records. Their early recordings were produced by Billy Davis, including their first single, "Father Knows Best" b/w "One Day I'll Show You", which became a regional hit in Cleveland in 1962. Several further singles for Chess followed but did not achieve significant commercial success, and by 1964 the group had effectively broken up. McAlister and baritone singer Wallace Sampson continued as a trio with new member Leonard Caston Jr., the son of Leonard Caston. With this line-up, they achieved their biggest success with the 1964 hit "Voice Your Choice". The follow-up single "Ain't No Big Thing" also charted. Caston left the group in 1965 and was replaced by James Jameson. This version of the group recorded only one single, "Baby You Got It", before McAlister departed. Around this time, Chess Records had another group on its roster called The Confessions, led by Mitchell Bullock, who had recorded the single "Don't It Make You Feel Kinda Bad" b
