Artist
Started originally by Chris Shulhan and Richie Strain in 1997, the band was very much influenced by early to mid 90's skate punk (Ten Foot Pole, Lagwagon, Strung out to name a few). With a love for Skate boarding and fast punk rock, Pressure Point was born. If the Preshure Point was known for anything, it was their constant rotation of band members. The band originally began as a three piece and after spending a year going through several members, they entered the studio to record an album that would never actually be released. Forgetting the album they recorded, they went in search of a second guitar player, which was accompanied by the leaving of yet another drummer. The summer of 2001 come by and the band would finally enter the studio and record "A Fiction Better Than Reality", which they self-released. The record itself was reasonably well-received among the local punk community. Soon after, the band recorded a second album entitled "The Only Constant is Change", which was released on Farway Records. With more members quitting, the band struggled to find more replacement players in time to begin touring with fellow Edmontonian band Compromise. This tour proved to be the beginning of the end for the Preshure Point, as their friends in Compromise were hit by a drunk driving while touring in the United States, killing two of the members. The Preshure Point drove home immediately after this occurrence. A few weeks later, their last show was played in summer of 2003
