The Prelude was an Irish band that relocated to Liverpool and was active during the 2000s. The split after the release of their 2008 album "Moving To The Country - Never Coming Back". The six-piece set of best friends moved from Derry to Liverpool. Marrying the pathos of Dylan, the melodies of The Band and the drunken celebration of The Pogues, The Prelude pleased audiences around the UK. Members: Garvan Cosgrove (Guitar, Vocals, Keys); Charlie Mullan (Acoustic Guitar); Joe McMonagle (Drums); Aidan McAteer (Guitar, Vocals, Mandolin, Keys); Brian Mc Elhinney (Bass Guitar); Darren Geach (Vocals).
