at least 2 groups one from Bristol Uk, and one from Canada. 1) The Posers... the Mighty Posers were a punk band formed in about December 1977, practiced down at GBH Bristol every Sunday morning and consisted of: Simon Wakeling - Vocals Shaun Harvey (Le Havre) - Guitars Andrew Peters (Ange) - Bass Clive Williamson - Drums They played quite a few decent gigs including supporting Sham 69 at the Bristol Locarno (now the carling academy) in early 1978. Changed name to 48 Hours 1979. 2) Bio: Although The Posers formed in early 1995 it wasn't until Germany's Peter Fieger from Blind Beggar Records came to Canada to see them play in 1996 that they landed their first record deal. The band went into the studio and in 1997 their first vinyl EP entitled "Kill The Ravers" was released. The record received rave reviews in many international fanzines and the first pressing sold completely out within a few months. This record is currently on its second pressing and has done especially well on Canadian airwaves. Since their debut performance in February 95' The Posers have played over 100 shows, both locally and out of town and have shared the stage with notable bands such as Red Alert, The Dayglo Abortions, BunchoFuckinGoofs, The Varukers, The Restarts, Urbn Dk, Strychnine, Pretentious Assholes, Aus Rotten, Oi Polloi, Misery, and many more.
