In the summer of '89, Country Dick Montana mounted a tour with some other distinguished hooligans: former Blaster and ex-X axeman Dave Alvin, and the perpetually irreverent Mojo Nixon. On the record, Country Dick takes a stab at croonin' Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love," Johnny Cash's "Jackson," R.B. Greaves' "Take a Letter Maria," and Dick's own magnum opus "The Definitive Tom Jones Medley." Mojo Nixon puts on his brogans to clog along with his own classics, "Louisiana Lip Lock," "Debbie Gibson is Pregnant," "Elvis is Everywhere," and Jerry Reed's "Amos Moses." Hepcat Dave Alvin wails Joe South's "Games People Play," Johnny 'Guitar' Watson's "Gangster of Love," and Mickey Gilley's "Closing Time." The final recorded document, Live in Las Vegas, makes clear the indisputable fact that the Pleasure Barons are the world's first trailer park trash-a-billy big-band stupor-group. from HighTone Records User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
