The Plantation City Nightlife started in 2003 as a side project of the now defunct, Grae, and Traded to Racine. Guitarist Ben Harris, and Bassist Matt Cargill came together to craft emotional music with a solid punk rock foundation that wouldn't fit in with their punk rock, and hardcore bands, respectively. In 2004 the Nightlife recorded their first E.P., We've Become the People Our Parents Warned us about released independently. After playing these songs around south and central Florida just in time to form a cohesive unit, Harris left for Gainsville and the University of Florida, leaving the Nightlife and Grae dismantled in his wake and Cargill continued to play in Traded to Racine, and live his life in South Florida. Honing his chops in the Central Florida music scene Harris returned committed to continue the project, and 2005-2006 found the Nightlife hitting the South Florida club circuit where time could be found. 2009 has seen a flurry of activity for the group. A new disc is in the works as well as more shows, proving this literal "little band that could" continues it's uphill climb to your local bar and/or stereo.
