about

The Pickup from Denmark & Sweden was formed in 2003 as a classic 5-piece combo. Back then the music style was a kind of Hill-Billy Rock ‘n’ Roll inspired by American rock music from the seventies. But the style quickly changed as all the members have roots in harder music. Today, three years, and a lot of concerts later, The Pickup now plays what you would call Melodic Highspeed Rock ‘n’ Roll and the main sources of inspiration are many, but mainly themselves. In 2004 The Pickup went to the studio to record a promo called "Thanx For Nothing". During the process the lead singer was replaced, which led to the defining of The Pickup’s very own style and sound as known today. In 2005 the second promo, “Le Cobra”, was recorded and at the moment The Pickup are recording a full length album with Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere) as producer. During 2005 and 2006 The Pickup has supported Volbeat on a great part of their DK-tour, and furthermore The Pickup has supported the former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'anno. Recently The Pickup has been nominated as Best Talent 2006 at the Danish Metal Awards.
