Artist
Known for the sincerity of their playing and the genuineness of their songs, The Palace Flophouse has been warming small venues across the Midwest for over a year. Their first album, Try Not to Get Worried, showed the band’s ability to effortlessly weave plotlines while banging out melodic pop songs, rich with texture and harmony. The band’s brand new, self-recorded, self-produced, and self-released full-length album Bad Friends Forever (April 16, 2011), features all the charm of their earlier songs but with a new confidence and maturity. On the ten songs that make up Bad Friends Forever, The Palace Flophouse turns up the amps and surprises the listener with three-minute gems that at times feel more like poignant novels or hazy memories. The songs speak for themselves and show a band that is not afraid to be itself, and nothing else. Hear what that sounds like.
