There are at least 2 artists who have released material under the name 'The Oracles.' [1] a metal band from the United Kingdom [2] a lo-fi orchestradelic rock band from Illinois [1] The Oracles sole goal to create a sound that is both visceral and dynamic, while searching for a blend of sound that has not yet been heard within metal. 'The Journey Towards the Paths of Light' is the first release by the band and is a concept EP based on one main melodic theme. It is available through the band's Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/wearetheoracles. Swedish prog legend Stefan Dimle of Morte Macabre has said that The Oracles' debut is "a perfect mix of Opeth and Enslaved." [2] a lo-fi with many vocals and generally good intentions. Invented in dekalb illinois 2004, the Oracles have accomplished two albums ("beet the meatles" 2006, & "optimus grimes" 2007). the Oracles played a final live show in early 2006 and are still working on their 3rd album which will hopefully be done by fall 2009.
