The Old House are 4(or 3, depending what night you catch them) boys who live in Wakefield, England. They are Jamie Lockhart(Drums & Vocals), Craig Newman(Guitar & Vocals), Paul Reid(Bass Guitar & Vocals) & Russel 'The Disaster' Searle(Guitar & Vocals). The Old House plough the same lofi-indie-grunge-rock such as luminaries Pavement, Built to Spill, Pixies & the rest of the american indie rock bunch. This means jangly guitars, loadsa distorted guitar parts & melodic(then shouty) vocals from people who don't really class themselves as 'singers'. A certain British-ness means a pop sensibility that some bands may shy away from, but its definately a key feature - think Smiths, Cribs, Idlewild etc. The Old House live show is definately an energetic, cathartic experience. Don't expect any shoegazing nonsense here, it's all smiles, lotsa movement, noisy guitars & pounding drums.
