There are at least 2 bands called The Odyssey (quite many '+10' The Odyssey without article). Here listed in chronological release order. There are one 60's Ca, USA and a 00's band from Finland- 1) The Odyssey were a somewhat mysterious Los Angeles-based garage band, signed to the White Whale label, who cut a hot little piece of put-down punk gold in 1968 before disappearing. It's been rumored that the Odyssey were members of the Turtles working under a pseudonym, but there are others who believe them to be members of two other groups, the L.A.-based Just Too Much and the Looking Glasses, who came from L.A.'s suburbs. Their memorably defiant A-side, "Little Boy, Little Girl," has been compiled on Bacchus Archives' Fuzz, Flaykes, & Shakes Volume 1: 60 Miles High. 2) The Odyssey Story started in July 2007 when singer and guitarist Rikhard (Paul), guitarist Micky (Ace), drummer Oliver (Eric) and bassist Laze (Gene) was performing in birthday party at Kotka. One of the KISS army members had birthday and our cover band was invited on stage with setlist full of legendary KISS anthems and some 80's hard rock hits. We went on stage with the KISS make-up and all the excitement and magic we had that night ended up to form a KISS tribute band called "Odyssey". We had an idea of tribute that gather all the best parts of 1980-83 era KISS and that would sound very extreme and energetic.
