There are at least three bands called The New Creatures: 1. A Dutch band from Eindhoven, having Tonefloat Records as their record company. 2. A US goth band. "This talented band leapt into the public eye when they were unceremoniously dumped from a The Sisters Of Mercy show in Philadelphia for being, in A.E.'s opinion "too goth" to share stage with him." Was he scared? "Led by vocalist and bassist Mark S. Walsh, this band elevated their sound into something truly different. The New Creatures' writing is their strongest suit with accompanying arrangements which make a wholly danceable yet subtly melanchalic excursion that satisfies on a myriad of levels." (carpe noctem, usa) The New Creatures started for around five years ago, while Mark is the only remaining original member. Working with several guest musicians, the current line-up features amongst Mark also: K Tiger Koehn (Drums), Bret Levitt (Guitars) Johnathan Mooney (Keyboards) and for the recording of "Cunning, Baffling, Powerful!" also Julia Kent from 'Rasputina' on cello and Anca from 'Maria Excommunicata' on vocals as guest musicians took part. The question if the band name might cause confusion to Siouxsie and Budgies band Mark has clear words: "Sometimes. Here's the story- THE NEW CREATURES is the name of a book of poetry written by Jim Morrison (well before Siouxsie's presence in the music scene) and when I was young I was determined to (someday) have a band by that name.
