The Murder Room was formed in 2004 when Rodney Rocha and Paul Kenny decided to form the band after having previously worked with each other in past bands. Rodney had done some production work with Paul's previous band and when Rodney wasn't touring the two started writing together. After becoming an established touring bassist, Rodney decided he wanted another challenge-he wanted to play guitar. The pair called on a friend, Rob Whittemore to fill the now vacant bass guitar spot. The three went through a few other musicians as they began to find thier own style. The purpose of this band was to get together with some friends and play some good rock and roll, not this computerized hip hop mishmash I hate my parents music. As they developed thier own style they knew they needed to solidify the lineup with a powerful drummer and lead guitarist. That brought Shawn and Jeff Duncan into the fold on drums and guitar respectively. Both are industry veterans and a perfect fit for the sound and style The Murder Room had developed. After recording the "DEAD IN CALIFORNIA" EP in November, 2004 they debuted thier live act in Hollywood at the Roxy on Sunset.
