The Movers & The Shakers are dysfunctional band. They're a band that can only be described as greatly ironic, or maybe ironically great. Originally proposed as a live touring band, the lineup quickly disintegrated. With no more than 3 band members ever being in the same place at the same time, M&S decided to put all their efforts into recording their first album. Recorded over the summer of 2008, their self-titled debut was entirely self-produced. Drawing from a wide variety of influences, M&S ended up putting together an even more musically diverse album than they had planned. Basically, this is music that no one in this day and age will recognize as "good", but in 20 years the hipsters of the future will hail as even greater than that of The Beatles.
