The Moth Leads The Empire was a grungy metalcore band from Syracuse with different sound influences from bands like Coalesce, Botch, and Deadguy. The band formed summer 2005. They had several different member changes and finally by late summer '05 the band put on their first show as a four piece opening for metal crushers Bleeding Kansas and the political warlords, Cipher. The bass player left and a good friend joined, which became their strongest lineup ever. The band played many shows throughout the Syracuse area, and also went on tour to other parts of New York. The Moth Leads The Empire broke up around the summer of 2006. The band had success in playing with bands like Alove For Enemies, If Hope Dies, Bleeding Kansas, Cipher, Taste of Silver, and Still Remains.
