The initiative is friendship. Music is the mean. Communication is the terminus ad quem. Borrowing the title of the track “Model Spy” by Cinerama, members of ex-group Paraffin felt the need to set a new project. The first outcome of the project was the recording for some original piece of music for the short film “Souvenirs” by Alex Kakaniaris., a film that was projected in Festivals of Denmark, Drama and Athens. This contribution was followed by the recording of the music for another short film called “Overhours” produced and directed by Nikoleta Leousi. Shorlty afterwards the Model Spy prepared the first four-track E.P. , produced by Steve Ladopoulos at Undersound Studios in Athens. The E.P. was the introduction for a series of live gigs during the spring of 2007, along with other bands of the Athens Scene (live at Ampelokipous in favour of Elpida Hospital, live at the Velvet Party in Bios) as well as Gruff Rhys of the Super Furry Animals at AN club. During summer of 2007 the Model Spy covered and recorded the Television Personnalities track “I know where Syd Barrett lives” in favour of the -February 2008 programmed- release of Canadian label TBM “Tribute to Television Personnalities vol.3”. On December 2007 the Model Spy participated in the live release party of “the Approaching of the Hour” -produced and directed by Graziella Kanellou- in DVD form by Sonic Playground. The show took place at Gagarin 205 and “Assassin Romantique” is included among other tracks by greek bands
