Their sound, associated with genres such as folk noir, dark folk, and gothic folk, mainly comprised acoustic and electric guitar, bass, accordion, piano, keyboard, and musical saw. Their songs are emotionally direct and usually built on a core of acoustic instrumentation, but liberal use of reverb, delay and other effects often gives them an ethereal quality. In 2005--after playing, recording, and evolving through various lineups--they joined the roster of Klem North Records, a Pennsylvania-based label founded by Samezvous of the band Los Halos. Their debut full-length, "Our Cruel Demise", was released in August 2006.
