The Melting Clock assembles the recollections of Elgin; upon a base plate of brooding melodies and pulse pounding cadences. Like Elgin, The Melting Clock is part human, part machine. Fusing elements of industrial, psychedelia, and electronica, with traditional instrumentation, the band lurks in the back alley, behind the vaudevillian stage. The Melting Clock redefines the boundaries of steampunk, creating a World where Mary Shelley is married to Philip K. Dick. Drawing inspiration from early works of sci-fi and horror, such as Frankenstein, Metropolis and the Tell Tale Heart, and infusing them with modern works such as Bioshock, and What Dreams May Come. At times darkly violent and others beautifully ambient, Christopher McBeth of ND Magazine compared the vocal styling to a "blend of Jim Morrison, Dave Vanian (The Damned), and Christian Vander (Magma). They fit the style of music nicely, and enhance it unlike some bands whose singer moans and grunts a few coherent syllables. Simply put, the guy can sing." The Melting Clock tinkers with music, much as a mad clockmaker would, and beckons you to become part of the machine.
