The Matchmakers was a British bubblegum pop group of the early 1970s. The band was essentially the brainchild of songwriter Mark Wirtz and German music publisher Rudi Lindt. Wirtz wrote a batch of songs that was recorded by a revolving cast of studio musicians. Most of the music was released under the moniker The Matchmakers and one LP was released: Bubblegum a Go-Go in April 1971.
