Artist
With a brow raising blend of exotic rhythms and spaghetti western twang, the Madhappies have infected the local music scene with their tight pants, modern haircuts and deeply suggestive lyrics. Their catchy mix of rock/indie/pop has been compared to the likes of the Hoodoo Gurus, INXS and the Rolling Stones just to name a few. The Madhappies have progressed from the lounge room to the stage over the past couple of years in their quest to become one of Brisbane's most loved bands. 2006 has witnessed them launch their debut album 'Bad Motivator' to an excited crowd at the Zoo; secure a number of spots on the Transmit006 series of shows around the Valley; organise a big bill for the Valley Fiesta and play a host of gigs around town in between. They have been receiving regular airplay on 4ZzZ as well as being interviewed on Triple J's Hack for their part in performing a live web cast for the pioneering Raw Audio website. A unique thrill for them was to judge the annual high school Rock Awards at St. Columbans College and perform in front over 500 of the toughest critic's around- high-school students. Their debut album 'Bad Motivator' was recorded at industry respected Airlock Studios in early January 2006 and is certainly worthy of high praise and accolades. The Madhappies were joined by Nina Best in the studio and for a handful of gigs to promote the album shortly after its release. Their film clip for the song 'Dying Breed' has been distributed nation wide through Night Life
