Two things are blatantly obvious on meeting Chris Cooper and Iain Lowery founder members of Norwich based quintet The Lost Levels; they share a genuine love of most genres of music and computer games; these have undeniably influenced their sound, and they've got an opinion on everything. There's no fence-sitting in this camp. Having started out as essentially a two-piece, it quickly became apparent that more layers of noise were required. Cooper and Lowery started their search to find out like minded souls to deepen their sound. Owen Morgan, Steve Harris and Ed Raison were enticed to join, completing the line up over the course of the next two years. The diversity of characters within the band creates not only an intriguing mix of musical directions, but makes what should be a simple conversation on any topic engaging, if not slightly challenging! They agree on very little except one thing: The Lost Levels. When singer Cooper confidently spouts "No-one else is currently making the music we do!" you know its not up for debate. With an astounding confidence that surfs the boarders of arrogance, he's a refreshing change from the fey indie tykes or obvious rock monsters currently following each others tails up and down a very manufactured Top 40. The Lost Levels create fizzy pop-tunes. They're not afraid of wigging out to transport you on an mini prog-journey only to set you down with a pop-twist.
