The Lorcas exploded out of the South London music scene in 2007 and their reputation has grown steadily since. Part of the Folk @ The Moon and Easycome Acoustic Club circle, their deeply melodic songs have led to various festival and club appearances. Influenced by the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Elliott Smith, & The Beatles, the Lorcas are Emily C Smith (vocals, guitar & harmonica) & Ruth Jacob (vocals & banjo). They share the songwriting duties and this helps to create their unique sound. They are a prolific live act on the London scene and they are due to begin recording their first album early in 2009.
