The Lockdown deliver a danceable dose of hook-laden rock, indie and synth - spiked with high-octane chorus lines - that comes completely under the radar. And they shift from scuzzed up squalls of sound to poignant heart-rending melody with an efficiency that everyday indie bands would sell their lead guitarists for. The band kicked into life as a three piece back in 06 devoting ridiculous amounts of their youth in windowless practice sessions. Rob joined the band a month before their first gig, adding a vital missing dimension. Along with a knack for turning out winning anthems, The Lockdown have perfected a deceptively mainstream sound on tracks such as "I Don’t Know How". Following a highly impressive performance at Crewe Live 08, the four-piece earned a support slot with The Clik Clik. They have since been winning hearts and minds with a series of high profile support slots - with Chris Helme (Seahorses) and The Joy Formidable unreserved in their praise for the boys. Frontman Dan said: “The main aim of our music is to get people to dance and have a good time. “Music is one of the few things that can just change your mood in seconds - that’s a really powerful thing when you think about it.” Playing down the band’s hard-grafting work ethic, Matt added: “We work hard in practices, so that we can have a laugh on stage and not worry about messing up." The Lockdown are determined to raise the stakes in 2009 and take their music to the masses. Go see them live - just
