'The Lights From Here' were an instrumental post-rock band from Los Angeles. Earlier incarnations of the band were known as 'Stromboli' which evolved into 'Farewell to Hymns' & eventually TLFH. Core members were; Andreas (guitar), Kimmy (keys/guitar) & Robert (Drums). They released their 1st self titled compact disc on local brethren, The Antarcticans, The New Black label in 2006. A 2nd, darker, more expansive album was recorded by the band but will likely never see the light of day due to the bands unfortunate demise in 2008 resulting from the inevitable break up of it's core members, Andreas & Kimmy. Drummer Robert Bauwens went on to form the improv-noise-drone-metal oufit Sasqrotch with Nick Thompson as well as the crucial midlife revert to key influences 'The Soft Opening' as well as performing regularly with noise/drone/improve/s'qrotch hermano's act, Yuko x Chino. The band had a revolving line up, original members left and were replaced by members of 'The Half Mantis Group', who would also handle the engineering/recording duties for the band. Other than the 2nd TLFH record... there is also an amazing unreleased Stromboli album just sitting on Robert's shelf waiting for all of you to feast upon...
