The Light Pines started out as a recording project for Josh Pope and fellow The Love Language bandmates Kate Thompson and Tom Simpson. A self-titled debut was released and the lineup has expanded to include Jordan McLamb and Max Indian’s Carter Gaj and James Wallace. With a full compliment in place, Light Pines made their live debut at The Bladen County Records showcase at the 2009 Musicfest NW, and has since been gigging throughout North Carolina with the likes of Max Indian, Ryan Gustafson, and appeared at WKNC's Double Barrel Benefit VII.
