The Legend! is Jerry Thackray aka Everett True. An English journalist and author who started out writing fanzines and later contributed to and edited magazines like NME, Melody Maker, Careless Talk Cost Lives and Plan B. He was a key person in the UK punk and indiepop live scene and often had artists sleeping on his floor. He was friends with Creation Records Alan McGee and in August 1983 he released the "'73 in '83" single as the first single on Creation Records. Later when sent to Seattle to cover the grunge scene for NME he befriended Nirvanas Kurt Cobain and even introduced him to Courtney Love. He mentions this fact a lot. He is married to the singer in one of the best indiepop bands ever Snowbirds and now lives in Melbourne, Australia.
