"The Knowbody Else" was formed in 1963 in Black Oak, Arkansas by Ronnie Smith, Rickie Lee Reynolds, Stanley Knight, Harvey Jett, Pat Daugherty, and Wayne Evans. James "Jim Dandy" Mangrum later became their front man, with Ronnie Smith transitioning into the role of stage production manager.
