There are two bands by this name: 1). The King in Yellow is an Indie Rock band hailing from Kennesaw, Georgia. The King in Yellow was created when a tight nit group of friends needed something to funnel their desire for making music into. Quickly after their first practice, The King in Yellow started work on their first EP titled “Apparitions”. After writing for 3 months it was released on March 31st, 2011 with positive reception. The band then started playing in different beloved music venues around Atlanta to promote their release, including The Masquerade and The Drunken Unicorn trying to take the music that they love to make to others. After doing this they started to gain a following around the Metro-Atlanta area including Kennesaw State University, where they currently attend. The King in Yellow’s sound is an accurate representation of its members. Everything from their bouncy tapping parts to their dance driven drum parts to their chorded, “epic” guitar parts can be seen as a reflection of who the members are as a unit. The bands drummer, Brandon Hellebuyck says “Whenever we write a new song, it’s always as a group, so everyone’s ‘shine’ comes through”. Andrew Carmichael says, “Our influences are never ending. We might hear a new artist from today or an artist from the 70’s and gain inspiration from both, but no matter who we gain inspiration from, we still strive to do things different”. Now a days you can find The King in Yellow not only playing local shows in the M
