Straight out of Boulder, Colorado, The Johnny O. Band brings its compelling blend of blues, rock, funk and soul to the national music scene. With the release of their third CD, Time For The Turnaround, the band demonstrates its ability to craft fresh, original tunes that push the boundaries of the Blues. By blending powerful lyrics with sweet vocal harmonies and combining diverse influences such as jazz and New Orleans-style street rhythms, Time For The Turnaround presents a unique and dynamic sound that grabs hold of the listener and never lets go. Johnny O. Has never been content to just play on the local scene. His musical endeavors have taken him all over the world. Having perform med in Europe Japan and south America including 2 tours in Holland and 4 tours in Brazil. Other international highlights have been several featured slots at the Costa Maya Blues festival in Mexico, he also toured in Ireland with Bobby Dixon, son of legendary blues man Willie Dixon. Johnny O. has played professionally for over 25 years. He has toured extensively around the United States, “one year we played in over 25 different states”~J.O. In recent years he’s competed twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, the first year beating out over twenty other bands to earn the right to represent Colorado at the IBC.
