The powerful contemporary melodic sound of the Jet Black Berries new CD Postmodern Ghosts is rooted in the band’s illustrious history. The Jet Black Berries released 3 albums in the mid to late 80’s on Restless and Enigma Records, contributed to the infamous “Return of the Living Dead” soundtrack and were the darlings of what was then known as psychedelic alternative rock. The band broke up in 1989.....but zombies are hard to kill......... In 2011 the Jet Black Berries have arisen from the crypt with young lead singer, Johnny Cummings at the helm. Johnny brings to the other four Jet Black Berries veterans amazing lead vocal, piano, guitar and front man skills. It only took one gig in upstate NY to land the band these accolades from one of Rochester New York’s top music critics, “My Best of 2010 Critic’s Pick…What a great band. It's timeless with relevant and reminiscent components throughout. Ominous, foreboding, drum-driven hypnosis with guitar-driven psychosis." Frank De Blase, Music Critic, City Newspaper The reunited Jet Black Berries fed off the energy from their live shows and quickly moved into the recording studio to cut new material. The people at Bug Music heard the band and Bug Digital quickly reached an agreement with the band to distribute their new full length CD, Postmodern Ghosts.
