The Hypno-Twists smoldered in the searing heat of Phoenix AZ's desert for 3 years, and finally called it a day in 2003. Before that, the band managed to do a few things..such as tour London and record an album at London's ToeRag Studios with Liam Watson (where The White Stripes recorded "Elephant"), have a song included on a Little Steven Garage Comp, play at SWSX 2002, and entertain rabid crowds every week at the then-popular Emerald Lounge (now to become a Starbucks, we heard..) with their heady mixture of Spaghetti Western music, garage, exotica, and psych. The Hypno-Twists played mostly obscure covers from the 60s, but also had some originals written by guitarists JellyRoll and Bobby Lava Noxious, and drummer PhilthyPhil. PhilthyPhil lives in NYC, where he started the band Sons of Moon. The group recorded a cool EP last year with famed producer Michael Deming called "Prepared for that Eventuality," and then played a few shows in the UK, and then took a bit of a break as band members moved to London and Hollywood. Now re-formed and back in NYC where they belong, the band has just completed a new recording and play out regularly in NYC. JellyRoll and Tula live in Philadelphia and started up The Misteriosos (psych rock n roll) about 2 years ago. The band plays often in NYC and Philly, released a
