The Humble Brothers are an electronic music duo consisting of Canadian Ken "hiwatt" Marshall and Tanzanian-born Traz Damji. They are mainly known for producing part of the original soundtrack for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, SimCity 4, and remixes of other artists' songs, such as Linkin Park's "One Step Closer" ("1Stp Klosr"). Damji was hired in the early 90s by Electronic Arts to work as a composer for their many sports franchises. Marshall, who trained under renowned producers and audio engineers during the early- to mid-90s, was hired by EA in 1997 to assist in engineering and production. The two discovered they had great chemistry and came up with their moniker late one night while working on their first project, a remix of a Deftones song for "Street Sk8er." Newly signed (to Warner Brothers) Linkin Park heard the remix and commissioned The Humble Brothers to remix their first single, One Step Closer. Skinny Puppy, Rammstein, and Static-X were the next group of artists to receive a Humble Brothers remix. Since then, they have expanded their clientele and began remixing non-Industrial artists. Their second project together was the first of the next-generation Need for Speed titles, Hot Pursuit 2. After contributing to Hot Pursuit 2 and SimCity 4, they left Electronic Arts to pursue a career as freelancer musicians.
