The Homecoming Queens

The Homecoming Queens are a ska band from Huntington, Long Island. They started out as a three-piece high school punk band named Public Humiliation in 2003, with guitarist Jon Graber and drummer Lauren Miller, which later added trumpeter Rich Seibert, coining their style "Long Island Trumpet-Core". Over the next year, they evolved into a ska group, adding bass player Ben Silverman, saxophonist Kevin Miller, and trombonist Craig Fried. After playing their first show under the moniker Plan B, they changed their name to The Homecoming Queens the next day. From 2004 onward they played many shows on Long Island with other ska and punk acts in the area and quickly developed a strong local following. The Homecoming Queens have recorded two EP's, 2005's "His Name Is Not Roberto," and 2006's "Songs For Names That Don't Make Sense," and contributed to Bedtime for Brezhnev Studios' 2007 "Rhythmic Ceremonial Rituals" compilation. Despite the musicians temporarily parting ways to attend different colleges, they continued making music together, playing shows during breaks from their studies, as well as various dates throughout the year, touring the east coast multiple times, and sharing the stage with national and international acts. Their first full length album, "A Sound You Once Knew," was released on July 15, 2008. After five years, several tours, and countless shows, the band went on an indefinite hiatus on June 5, 2009.
