Three bands are named The Hermit. 1) The Hermit is one of the projects of a British artist Ben Lamdin (a.k.a nostalgia 77). The Hermit is part of Museum records. The label was founded in '90s through a local radio station in Oxford and an underground hip-hop show called Boombox and originally consisted of Art & Craft, Keno-1, Dirty Shovel, The Contortionist, 3rd Part and The Hermit. These are his releases: The Hermit - Spiders on Various - Hidden People (CD/12"), Blue Juice, 2002 Keno-1 & The Hermit - Heavy, Heavy / The Hardest Rain (7"), Breakin' Bread, 2003 The Hermit - Code (12"), Museum, 2005 2) The Hermit is an indie/pop/electronica band founded by drummer and musician Hamish Thomson in Vancouver, Canada in the year 2000. The Hermit recently completed their third album, Turn Up (The Stereo), with co-producer Krish Sharma (Perry Farrell, Rolling Stones). The Hermit's independently released 2001 debut album, Flying Out Of Solitude - largely a solo studio effort recorded and produced by Thomson himself with the help of engineer/mixer wiz Mike Rogerson- garnered multiple West Coast Music Award nominations in his native Canada and led to a record deal with Nettwerk Records. The follow up album, 2005's critically-acclaimed Wonderment - released by Nettwerk and again produced by Thomson with Rogerson engineering and mixing– heralded a fuller sound and a more collaborative approach, featuring vocal contributions from Martina Sorbara, Allison Shevernoha, Shelley C
