In 2003, alongside his other musical activities and in particular Belone Quartet, under the identity of THE HEALTHY BOY, Benjamin Nerot, from Nantes, France, began to write songs solo. He picked up the name THE HEALTHY BOY as an ironic pseudonym describing his personal health considered slightly absent from his life at this time. In 2005, “A two steps promenade” was released with Kythibong label, a first album with lo-fi vibrancies, recorded in a rush, which shows through influences such as raw folk of the firsts Palace Brothers, as well as some compositions turned towards post rock which ring like the American Gastr del Sol. An album where the guitar, sometimes thrilled, sometimes silent, accompanies a deep and blasé vocal testifying to a certain absurdity of life. An album which sawsee him playing in France, as well as in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg, in rock parties or classical folk gigs. In December 2007, the second album, titled “Jusqu’a ce que nous soyons repus”, was recorded. The new songs recall at the same time Leonard Cohen’s nonchalance, Micah P. Hinson’s simplicity and Jim O’Rourke heady melodies. Today, the rule remains the same, THE HEALTHY BOY still uses only his guitar and his voice to paint with words his memories, his loves, his dreams and his devils. Hence there is born a minimalist music axed on the duality of these instruments, to create a kind of cottony and melancholic spleen that capsizes in a lunatic way, from time to time, towards a contained ang
