Jakob Seidensticker and Henrik Raabe met for the first time in 1994, sharing a love of dirty electronic sounds with a clear bass line. Since this fateful fusion their joint project The Havana Boys has created a prolific output of fine electronic masterpieces. The boys sound rests somewhere comfortably between fresh beats, dub and house. In 1998 the Nexus Clubnight in Hamburg's famous Mojo Club drew serious attention from worldwide club music aficionados, and the music of The Havana Boys was right in the middle of it mind-blowing every night it was reported. In 2000 their tight electronic live performances had gained such a following that they joined the nationwide Mojos tour Original Jazz Rockers. Their skills as remixers were also showcased on the Mojo Remix Album part 2 with Dave Pike's Mathar and their first EP limited tour edition was released on FREE FORM Records. Quite a year it would seem. It did not take the boys long for their follow up album to surface.. . The First Strike. Released in February 2001 on Jubilee Records, the LP combined the ever growing creativity and stylistic flexibility of The Havanas, taking their listeners on a journey of unique beats and heavy progressions, celebrated as a huge success throughout Germany on their next tour.
