The Hat Shoes was a project of Catherine Jauniaux and Bill Gilonis. Charles Hayward (This Heat and more) and Tom Cora (Skeleton Crew and more) complete the basic line-up, though there are many guest musicians, including David Thomas, Amos and Tim Hodgkinson. Their first album 'Differently Desperate', released in 1992, mixes opera, post-punk, pop, and avant-garde to create a fairly unique mix.
