Artist
'the harbor lights' were formed in the early spring of 2oo4 following lindsey, timothy, and jesse's involvement with electro-folk ensemble 'monsters of the sea.' combining influences ranging from dub to country, 'the harbor lights' crafted a delicate and melancholy sound that could have only blossomed out of the extensive experiential pallette of its core members. things picked up for them when they fell into good company with 'the brrr,' and from there, performance fluorished - they enjoyed two successful tours with 'the brrr,' one of the midwest and one of new england. various mini-tours of the area have also helped establish their fanbase, and they've been lucky enough to share the stage with acts like 'viking moses,' 'joan of arc,' 'thanksgiving,' 'pants yell,' 'apse,' and jason anderson. of course, they've always appreciated the company of the aforementioned good friends 'the brrr,' 'widower' (whose unreleased "acres" EP features both lindsey and timothy), 'the bayberry,' 'wilde stallions,' and 'arms and legs.' each of these artists are certainly worth taking your time out to investigate. prior to their "beasts of summer" tour of 2oo5 with 'the brrr', they recorded a single EP titled "beasts of burden" (this was 1/2 of the inspiration for the title of their tour; 'the brrr' released their "summer songs: part one" EP the same tour). a limited number of copies were handstitched in felt cases, marking the first official release of 'the woodland family songbook' (wfs 001)
