1) The Happies, from Salt Lake City, UT, are an indie entity with a sound that bears a striking resemblance to bands in the vein of Belle & Sebastian, The Shins, Grandaddy, and The Beatles (if they were around today). 2) The Happies (ザ・ハッピーズ) was a Japanese rock band formed in the early 90s by vocalist Joe Nakamura (中村ジョー) and guitarist Takeshi Wakabayashi (若林タ 武) originally as 阿佐ヶ谷 ハッピーズ . They released two albums "Portrait Of The Happies" and "Soul Hunter" before disbanding in 1999. Nakamura went on as a solo artist.
