Since formation at the start of 2011 the Hannah James Group have performed at the Sydney SIMA sound lounge, The Brisbane Powerhouse, Bennett's Lane Melbourne, Wangaratta Jazz Festival, Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival , Kinetic Jazz Festival, Lizotte’s Dee Why, Blue Beat Double Bay, undertaken live performances and interviews on Andrew Fords ABC Music Program, been the feature artists on the ABC Dig Jazz program as well as recording their debut album 'Effigy' (available in the itunes store and CD Baby). Over the years the group has been comprised of some of Sydney’s most outstanding young jazz players, with Casey Golden (piano), and Jamie Cameron (drums), Paul Cutlan (Bass Clarinet and soprano saxophone), Oli Nelson (drums), Peter Koopman (Guitar) The debut albums also featured Ed Rodrigues (drums) Tim Clarkson (saxophone) and Dave Rodriguez (guitar). Hannah was the recipient of the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award 2011 for up and coming young female jazz musicians. As well as leading her own group she has been fortunate enough to play with some of the icons of Australian Jazz including Don Burrows, Kevin Hunt, Aria Award winner Miroslav Bukovsky, Dale Barlow, Bobby Gebert, Paul Cutlan and John Morrison. She has also performed extensively outside the jazz genre including Katie Noonan, Angie Hart, Dean Manning, Jessica Mauboy,and triple J Uncovered winner Cathy Petocz and continues to work with well know Sydney Cabaret group Lady Sings it Better including tours to
