The Gulf Gate Project is Scott Gau, Adam Fox, and Sheldon Gau... three Breakbeat DJs who have come together to produce electronic dance music. About 10 years ago, this Sarasota, FL trio got their first set of CDJs and began spinning whatever breakbeat music they could get their hands on. Since then, the scene has evolved both in Florida as well as across the globe, and The GGP began to focus their efforts on electronic music production. In 2008, they began releasing tracks on their start-up label Toast and Jam Recordings and have about a dozen releases to date. Most recently was their 'Illuminati" EP which was released on Dusted Breaks... the 2010 Breakspoll award-winning Best Breakthrough Label. Illuminati was recieved well, with the original cracking the Beatport Top 50 and the Ways and Means Remix cracking the Top 20. In 2011 the focus begins on the live show. The boys are hard at work in the studio these days putting together live drums, keyboards, and samples and fx. The end result will be a live performance of the tracks they produce in the studio.
