Without taking risks, the world would be a very dull place to live and this brand new pop rock band out of Richmond, Virginia, THE GREATER THE RISK, knows all about this. The Greater The Risk formed in January 2010 when guitarist Ashley Drewes (The Secret Cool) and drummer David Landrum (The Secret Cool, Four Stories) decided they wanted a new start with a fresh sound. After months of song writing and searching for the right members, they found bassist Nate Wilson and lead vocalist Deek Kaufman to complete the lineup. With their musical influences ranging from Anberlin to Jimmy Eat World to Mae, The Greater The Risk is making the effort to create rock songs that have a fashionable indie pop attitude while maintaining a certain level of diversity. Each and every song comes from the heart as they write about their personal experiences in life, love, and loss. In March 2010, The Greater The Risk recorded their Self-Titled EP with Rich Stine (Fighting Gravity, Elevator to Space, Dakota Ring) at Lowwatt Studios and mixed with Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, A Skylit Drive). The release of the EP is scheduled for June 17, 2010. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
