The Granter Of Loan is a punk-rock garage band from Lerum just outside of Gothenburg, Sweden. They play classic punk-rock with a lot of bad-boy attitude altough with a not so well hidden sence of irony in the background. Their lyrics about distorted sexual views of adolecent teens growing up in a whirlpool of emotions trapped in a small town have attracted a lot of attention. However the main influences are bands like "Turbonegro" and "Hellacopters". The band formed in 2004 and quickly gained a reputation as a fierce live-act playing at school events and other smaller venues. They eventually ended up with quite a following. The band concists of: Axel Eriksson (guitar and lead vocals), Anton Engström (Guitar), Erik Danielsson (baseguitar and backing vocals), Richard Gutenius (baseguitar, percussion and backing vocals) and Hampus Wilhelmsson (drums). Having two baseguitars in the band opens up new ways of communcating through pure rock n'roll fury. That the band themselves call their music "Action-rock" is not surprising. In 2006 the band released their long anticipated debut demo entitled "Our hearts were young and gay". The recording became a huge success and increased the number of hardcore fans following the bands every move. A video of the band performing live, made in collaboration with the drummer of "Sprängdeg" another local band from Lerum is a priced gem amongs collectors of the bands material.
