The Grand Alternative Choir are a grindcore band formed in 2012 by Skegness based duo Will Stevenson (bass, vocals) and Dave Weston (guitar, vocals), and Orpington based musician Philip Whitehead (guitar, vocals, programming), also bassist for Eight Days From Sunday and The Death of Music. The band does not have a drummer, instead the drums are programmed by Whitehead on LMMS, although drums are credited to "Nat A. Truman". The group formed in May 2012 after what initially started as a joke on Facebook over entering a grindcore band into Britain's Got Talent started to become more serious over time. Within one day, 2 songs were recorded for the Friendship demo EP, which gave birth to the "bronygrind" genre (grindcore with lyrics influenced by the TV Series My Little Pony, despite none of the members being bronies). The band began work on their sophomore EP, ProCRUSTination, in January 2013, with early indications of songs following more conventional grindcore and extreme metal structures. The band is heavily influenced by artists such as Anal Cunt, Napalm Death and Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
